Your favorite high-energy, nut super awkward wedding photographer, Brittany, here! Today, I want to give you a sneak peek into my day at a wedding. From the first chirping of the birds to the last twinkling star in the night, come along on this joy-filled journey!
First Light – Gear Up and Go!
As the rooster crows, I'm up and at 'em, meticulously checking all my gear. Cameras, lenses, memory cards, oh my! Ensured everything's ship-shape, I fuel up with a mug of magic (a.k.a. coffee), grab my detailed plan of the day, and I'm off! I must check my gear, because I may not get a chance to charge batteries. The day may unfold into complete chaos or be an organized dream. Preparring for both scenerios helps me be successful!
Morning - Dive into the Excitement
Arriving at the bridal suite is like stepping into a fairytale - so much sparkle and anticipation! People screaming and singing. I weave through the excitement, capturing candid moments, stunning wedding attire, twinkling rings, and all those little details that make the day unique. It also gives me a chance to warm up to the bridal party and pick my helpers for the day!
Midday - Aww, the First Look and Pre-Ceremony Snaps
Midday's a rollercoaster of emotion, either we are anticipating the ceremony or often marked by the first look - such a beautiful, heartwarming moment that I get to capture. Then, we whisk the lovebirds and their party away for pre-ceremony photos, bottling up the anticipation before the "I do's"! If you choose a first look, this will help the photo schedule BIG TIME! We could easily get most of the photos on your list done before the ceremony, leaving some time for you to enjoy cocktail hour.
Afternoon - Here Comes the Amazing Couple
Then, it's showtime! Every part of the ceremony is a gift to photograph - the grand procession, the heartfelt vows, THE kiss, and the joyous recessional. Honestly, I can't help but feel the love! It is one of my favorite parts of the day. Always choking back a tear or two….
Late Afternoon to Evening - Cheers to the Newlyweds
After the ceremony, it's portrait and group photo time if you opted out of a first look. If not, go enjoy cocktail hour you two! Always so much fun and brimming with pure joy! As twilight descends, we party on into the reception - capturing the grand entrance, heartfelt toasts, dreamy first dance, and of course, the delicious cake cutting! Let us not forget the Parent Dances during dinner, and by this point I am starving.
Night - Time to Boogie and the Starlit Farewell
When night falls, the party hits its peak, and the dance floor becomes a swirling kaleidoscope of joy! Capturing everyone's best dance moves is just the best! Finally, the grand send-off - be it a rose petal shower, a sparkler-lit exit, or an intimate last dance, these moments are the perfect end to a beautiful day.
After Hours - Safeguarding Memories and Sneak Peeks
Even when the confetti's settled, my day isn't quite done. Backing up every captured moment is super important, and then, because I just can't resist, I peek at the day's treasures, often sharing a couple of sneak peeks with the excited couple!
From dawn to the wee hours, the life of a wedding photographer is filled with laughter, love, and a whole lot of fabulous photos. It's a whirlwind, it's a joy, and it's the best job ever!
